Write For Us

We publish practical, measurement-first articles for homeowners planning renovations, and we welcome guest contributions from people who do this work for real: contractors, designers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers and experienced DIY renovators.

What we publish

  • How-to guides built around real measurements, costs and decisions
  • ‘How much do I need?’ explainers for materials and sizes
  • Cost breakdowns from real projects (anonymised is fine)
  • Mistake-and-fix stories: what went wrong, what it cost, what to do instead

Guidelines

  • Original only. The article must not be published anywhere else, in whole or in part.
  • Practical, not promotional. Teach the reader something they can measure, calculate or check. Articles written to place a link will be rejected.
  • Length: 800–1,500 words, with clear headings.
  • Numbers required. Include real dimensions, prices or quantities wherever the topic allows.
  • Images: your own photos or diagrams are welcome; do not send images you do not have the right to use.
  • You may include one link to your own site in a short author bio. Links inside the article body must genuinely help the reader.

How to submit

Send your pitch or finished draft through the Contact Us page with the subject ‘Write for us’. Tell us your topic, your experience with it, and the main measurements or costs the article will cover. If it fits, we will reply within a week with any edits needed. We may lightly edit for clarity and formatting; we will never change your advice without asking.
